The theme of their songs is frequently poverty and sonsequently the words "rombe" a "beggar" and "murombo" a mendicant singer, are sometimes synonymous. This instrument had a mirliton set into the underneath section of the bell, an unusual practice and one that is only effective if used in conjuction with an external which would set it in vibration. Mendicant's song with Mbira dza wa Ndau.
